SIAD Launches forthnightly Business Development Forum
Goals:
Discuss your challenges in business, connecting to local support and learning how others have dealt with similar issues. The objective is to:
- Bringings SME's from various industries and SIAD members
- Increase business to business connections to contribute to local economy
- Increase social connections between SIAD members
Time: 7:00 to 9:00pm, every second Thursday
Place: Feza Foundation meeting hall- across from Auburn Police Station
Hosted by: SIAD Sydney Business Association
Hosted for: SIAD Members and their associates
Fees: Complimentary.
Format:
- Fingerfood and drinks - 20 minutes
- Short success story from local business – 10 minutes
- Attendee input on business topics to be discussed using posting board (examples of themes below) – 15 minutes
- Moderator led table discussions based questions from floor: 5 tables of discussion – 45 minutes
- Large group gathering with short summary of best ideas from each table – 15 minutes
Speakers and topics will change forthnightly from within SIAD Sydney Business Assocation network, the next meetings topics coming from attendees at the end of each session. Sessions are driven by attendees based on their interests and needs. Moderators will guide discussion of questions posed, and share their general expertise where appropriate.
Moving forward: SIAD's 2011 Overseas Trade Mission
Moving towards another SIAD overseas trade mission, let's first go through last year's statistics and details. SIAD attended Turkiye World Trade Bridge 2010 on June 14 and 20, 2010 in Istanbul. The event was organized under the coordination of the Turkish Primer Minister H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade of Turkiye (today’s Ministry of Economics) and in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye.
4WD Weekend
This month on SIAD's social events calendar was the 4WD drive tour of Woollongong to help SIAD members, our members' families and colleagues to bond better and enjoy some high adrenaline in the wilderness of nature.
2011 Iftar Dinner
SIAD Sydney Businessmen Association held its annual Iftar Dinner at Ottoman Cuisine Restaurant at The Docks with participation of 200 SIAD members, academia, journalists, members of the Parliament and representatives of business and community organizations.
